So Very Much Trek, And Just A Pinch Of 'Who.

Well I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.
It's nice to take part in the festivities that so easily draw your attention away from the ordinary lull of every day life.

But, the pumpkin pie is eaten up, the lights are (mostly) down, and the last bits of glitz and glitter are stuffed into a dusty box once again.

Which means- more dolls!

And I can't think of a better doll to start out the New Year than a Star Trek one.

Commander William T. Riker, U.S.S. Enterprise 1701-D!

I've entertained the idea of whipping up his girlfriend, Deanna Troi, and selling them as a set.
But before that could happen, I KNEW I needed another Doctor in the shop, stat!

So yes, here is this little guy, again!

I've also completed a Picard/Crusher set, which has sold already.

I'm off to start my next project, check back soon!

Back From Hiatus- With a New Entourage

I'm getting ready to add several new characters to the shop!

An Ood from Doctor Who, A Borg from Star Trek, and Commander Riker from Star Trek TNG. I will also be adding more of the much-favorited Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and Tenth (Tennant).

Sneak peek:

Check the shop soon for these additions and more!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. :)

Spock Is In The House!

Spock has arrived in the shop!
He's pointy from his ears to his eyebrows, with his trademark bowl haircut.
His shirt is made with 100% cotton yarn (because, why not?) and seriously, just check out the swanky arm candy (a.k.a. golden details) on his shirtsleeve?

Eh? EH? Pretty cool.

Cool, like Spock. That sort of unassuming coolness one gets not by flagrantly TRYING to be cool (JIM!) but by being so logically right almost 100% of the time ("almost", because well...he IS human).

You can buy him solo, or paired with Jim for a cute set.

Check him out here.

I've also been working very intently on another special order, and I can't show you pictures of the doll yet, but here's a hint...

Until next time- have a fun day!

I Have Been and Always Shall Be...Your Friend.

Yes, everybody's favorite Vulcan is finally coming to Galaxy Dolls! What would a SciFi shop be without him?

Rubbish.
Complete rubbish.

Spock is the epitome of nerd cool. Without Spock, Star Trek TOS is not worth watching.
I know, that's a bold statement. Especially if you, reader, happen to be a die-hard Kirk fan.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying ALL Star Trek would be rubbish without Spock...I'm a huge fan of the other three (THREE) series.
But The Original Series would be TOO comical without the dry puns and cold logic of this green-blooded protagonist.
And I'm sorry, but it's true.

Spock IS Star Trek.

So when I say he's finally coming to Galaxy Dolls, you can bet he's been long overdue.

Little Spock has got some work yet to be done- he needs those iconic pointy ears and bold 'brows, and well...he's headless at the moment.

But he should be in shop early next week!!

So I'll leave you with this picture to wish you a GREAT weekend:

Until next time- have a fun day!

Little Indy Has Arrived

*cue fanfare*

After FAR too long a wait (two weeks??), Little Indy has finally decided to buck up and grace us with his presence.
What can I say? Underneath that cool exterior lies a temperamental heart.

But he's HERE and he's fabulous.

Yes, he has his whip and a knapsack
that really opens and can hold stuff.
Like potato-rocks.

His hat is removable, along with his whip and knapsack.
I decided to go with a hot glue gun method of adhering the felt together because using a needle and thread was not only more delicate a process, but yielded unsightly stitch marks and holes.

He's now in the shop and ready to make the trek to your hometown for exploration and mischief!

Have a fun day!

Little Indy still in Progress, Finger Puppets Now in Shop!

So little Indy is STILL in the process of coming to life:

He still needs his jacket, hat, and knapsack. So while waiting for his completion I thought I'd better add something to the shop!

Yes, Star Trek, again.
Are you really that surprised??

I crocheted five little finger puppets to keep you from the inevitable boredom that seeps in while sitting there, in your cubicle, pretending to work.

Come on, don't pretend. I KNOW. You're crazy-bored.
But the second your boss walks by you'll quickly minimize this screen, showcasing a graft, or report, or some other work-related project that's been driving you up a wall for weeks.

See, I totally understand. I've been there.
And what would have kept me from hours of mind-numbing excel spreadsheets would have been these little guys.

If only I had these finger puppets back then, I might not have taken to conversing with the printer.
And fax.
And even the pen cup if the other two were being passive-aggressive (stupid printer thinks he's so important...)
But I didn't, so I did, and here I am. Trying to save you from that day-to-day fate of water-cooler chit-chat and watching coffee drip.

Take my advice. Give your hands a break from the keyboard and play a little Star Trek. You'll thank me for it. And so will the printer...trust me, he's kinda tired of listening.

Until next post- have a fun day!

Little Indy Progress

It's been a week since my last finished doll, but rest assured I am working to get one out as soon as possible!
I'm currently crocheting Indiana Jones, who comes with plenty of fine felt clothing to labor over, not to mention the hat.

This is just a picture of an action figure,
but it is my reference.
Except for the potato-esque rock.

I do plan on including a tiny felt knapsack as well.

Also-!
My friend that ordered Xavier and Sherlock has started a webpage entitled "The Adventures of Little Sherlock". She will be traveling to London next month, and plans on visiting 221B Baker street, among other notable scenes from the show (BBC's "Sherlock"). She will be including pictures of the Sherlock amigurumi as he travels to these places as well.
She's writing it from the perspective of tiny Sherlock, and I can already tell it will be a hilarious adventure for her readers.
Check it out!
